this post is about a fully free operating system named gNewSense. To find out what is a fully free OS please go through this.

Before installing ,this operating system is using gnome 2.30.2 so you want be getting touch screen like gnome 3.
We can download the image from here. We can use it as a live CD as well as installation disk.
Select “GUI Install” for installation. If you are familiar with text mod select “text install”
Select language in the next screen.
In the next screen we can select the location of the system
We can configure keyboard layout in the next screen and click “continue”
Next screens we can provide Desktop name and domain name,
and In my lab setup dhcp server is running. We can also configure static IP .
Setup root password and confirm it in the following screen
The next 3 screens are for configuring the user account.
first screen is full name of the user, second is Login name of the user and third is password details for user
partitioning disk,Next screen select guided partitioning .
Select “Guided-Use entire disk.”
If you want to specify some partitions. Please select “manual and select/edit a partition.
also we can select lvm or encrypted lvm.

Select first option for using entire file systems to be part of single partition.
next screen will be summary of partition scheme.
in the next screen we can commit the changes with “yes” or we can select “no” to the changes and modify the partition schemes
Configure package manager. in this setup i haven’t downloaded the new package from internet.but you can select “no” for downloading
installing the grub.we can continue on this. it may vary depending number of hard disk present.
